At SMC we aim to provide all our staff with the necessary tools and skills to perform to the highest levels and believe passionately in promoting from within. We strive to be the best in what we do. We look to develop the abilities of our staff through regular training both in-house and in partnership with all our respective Manufacturers.
Whichever career path is followed within our Company a training programme is developed and maintained in partnership with our respective manufacturers. Reaching each individual's full potential is our aim and we have successfully sponsored candidates through various university courses to achieve this goal. To assist staff in achieving this we offer a wide range of training and development opportunities with the Group.
It is important that all new team members undertake formal induction training. This training will commence from the first day of their employment and will last for six months. During this time new team members are trained, developed and reviewed. This will ensure they fully understand our mission statement and values, as well as fully understanding the responsibilities of the Group and their dealership.
The HR Department also runs Corporate Induction Days with the support of operational staff . A summary of the induction process is detailed below. At this time all staff will also undertake various modules in relation to Health and Safety, as well as completing the relevant Human Resources documentation.
