The design of the car is unmistakeably Ford, from the elongated cat’s eye-shaped headlights to the air deflectors on the rear wheel arches. It sports a brand new grille and bonnet, as well as LED daytime running lights. Keyless Entry is one of the handiest additions to the model: as long as your keys are in your bag or pocket, the Fiesta will sense them and automatically unlock itself.
A functional and forward-thinking ‘smartphone’ concept has been used as the inspiration for the new Fiesta’s cabin design. The optional Ford SYNC system lets drivers stream their favourite music from their own phone via Bluetooth, and to ask for specific tracks through voice controls – which also be used to make hands-free calls.
