By the time the Ford Fiesta 2015 hit the roads, Ford's compact, characterful hatchback was leading the way in terms of what could be expected from a small urban runaround vehicle. Well-styled, versatile, comfortable and with a decent choice of engines, the Ford Fiesta 2015 was impressive whichever way you looked at it.
Interior and exterior design
The design for the Ford Fiesta 2015 was not significantly changed in the way that the 2014 and 2013 iterations were, but it was tweaked and improved by degrees to improve the overall vehicle. The large, wide, and down-turned grille still sits in the centre of the Ford Fiesta 2015's frontage, forming a focal point that is difficult to take your eyes away from, but smaller changes do exist elsewhere. For example, the Ford Fiesta 2015 boasted a new eight-spoke wheel and all-season tyres for the SE trim model. On the inside, the seat fabric was reviewed and updated, and a new paint option, Magnetic Metallic, was made available to buyers.
Engines and performance
The Ford Fiesta 2015 was released with a range of options, including 1.2, 1.4 (petrol and diesel) and 1.6-litre units. The base level was a three-cylinder, turbocharged, 1.0-litre unit. The higher spec Ford Fiesta ST however came with a 1.6-litre EcoBoost engine that, thanks to its four cylinders, could utilise 197bhp, as well as specially adjusted brakes, suspension and steering to improve handling further. The award-winning 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine was also an option, with its low emissions making the Ford Fiesta 2015 exempt from car tax.
Safety and technology
The Ford Fiesta 2015 received a full five-star safety rating from Euro NCAP, so you can be sure that it will offer maximum protection in the event of a collision. The different trim levels in the Ford Fiesta 2015 yielded different technology as standard, with the entry level including air conditioning, a six-speaker CD sound system and smartphone connectivity. Higher trim levels meanwhile included MyFord Touch, lumbar adjustment and collision prevention systems.
