The Ford Fiesta 2017 represents the first real redesign for the small car in quite some time, and as such it comes to the market with plenty to live up to as well as plenty of hype. Unsurprisingly for a brand with such a positive history, the Ford Fiesta 2017 does everything you could hope it would without disappointing.
Interior and exterior design
The first thing that leaps out when looking at the Ford Fiesta 2017 is the change to the signature Ford grille which helped to define the previous three generations. The wide and low grille is still there, but it's been reigned in and made smaller so that it doesn't dominate the design quite so much. The rear of the car is where the major difference lies, as the bigger, more horizontal tail lights make the Ford Fiesta 2016 more mature looking. The ST-Line models take things a step further with side skirts, a spoiler and deeper front bumpers. On the inside, the Ford Fiesta 2017 boasts a higher driving position than its rivals, with firm and well-bolstered seats keeping you in control at all times.
Engines and performance
The Ford Fiesta 2017 comes with a choice of petrol and diesel engines, but as with previous generations, it's likely to be the EcoBoost units that prove the most persuasive. The award-winning, 1.0-litre turbocharged unit comes backed by 138bhp to help you accelerate up any steep hills with ease.
Safety and technology
The Ford Fiesta 2017 retains a full five-star safety rating from Euro NCAP, so you can be confident that you and your loved ones will be kept safe in the event of a collision. This is partly down to the exceptionally generous safety technology on-board, which includes Emergency Assist and Lane Keep Assist as standard. Optional extras meanwhile include adaptive cruise control, autonomous braking and a Cross Traffic Alert.
