

MG Motor UK entered into the 2012 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship which was announced on the 25th January.
As a brand that SMC supports, we believe this is exciting news because it increases brand awareness and visibility especially for the MG6 GT. Over the years MG’s brands have had mixed views but we at SMC fully support with the new models set to release in 2012. Last year, the BTTC had a massive following with 336,000 fans attending at trackside throughout the season, on top of that, there were 19.4 million viewer who tuned in on ITV1 and ITV4. Talk about brand exposure!
Two MG6 GT cars will be entered with the new MG KX Momentum Racing team which is headed by double BTCC champion Jason Plato and BTCC rising star Andy Neate.
Triple Eight Race Engineering are one of the most trusted and success car racing consturctors in touring car racing. Racing sponsorship are Tesco Fuels by promoting their Momentum 99 premium fuel brand and KX energy drink.
MG released the MG6 GT and is a five-door fastback and is the first new MG car in 16 years which was designed and engineered in Birmingham at the MG Motor plant
