The all-new Ford Ranger pick-up is due to arrive in early 2016, and the exciting facelift includes a range of new safety technologies as well as improved efficiency and fresh design features.
The front of the new Ford Ranger looks completely different, owing to the introduction of the trapezoidal Ford grille which is complemented by the sharpened headlights. Inside, however, is where drivers will feel the most benefit, due to Ford’s latest Sync 2 eight-inch touchscreen system – the Ranger will be the first vehicle to feature this system. Adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, forward alert, hill-descent control and parking assists are all fitted, making sure that your journeys are stress-free and straightforward at all times. A 240-volt power socket will also allow you to charge essential tools or a laptop while you travel.
On the performance side you will find the 3.2-litre Duratorq five-cylinder diesel engine has been tweaked slightly to ensure the 198bhp model is more efficient than ever before, with fuel consumption cut by 18 percent. This efficiency is continued throughout the range, with the 2.2-litre 128bhp model improved by 22 percent.
Electric power steering helps to further enhance the mpg figure and with start-stop technology you will also save fuel while in traffic. The off-road and pulling ability of the Ranger has not been compromised by efficiency improvements though, with a towing ability of 3,500kg and it is also capable of dealing with 800mm of water.
