Staff Training and Development

Every member of the SMC Cars team is provided with the training, resources, skills and tools they need to become the best they can be.


All new employees complete induction training, which begins on their first day and runs for six months. HR additionally provides Corporate Induction Days with full health and safety training.

On-the-job training

Our General Managers have the responsibility for defining the job description of each employee at their dealership, and Line Managers take charge of training other members of the team. Performance is regularly evaluated throughout the year, providing employees with valuable feedback on their work, making sure they're on track to reach personal goals.

Manufacturer-run courses

We regularly send our team members to official training courses held by the manufacturers we represent: Ford, MG, Suzuki and Mitsubishi.

Career building

There are multiple career paths you can follow with us, whether you work at the dealership as a sales advisor, receptionist or technician, or join our head office in the HR or IT departments.
