New Ford Transit

Ford to supply Thames Water

Ford’s distinctive branding will now be seen on over 900 Thames Water vans, after the American manufacturer won a contract to supply Thames Water over the next three years. As the UK’s largest water and wastewater service, Thames Water will take full advantage of the exclusive deal by using vehicles from across Ford’s commercial range.

The entire Ford van family is on offer to Thames Water. The company can benefit from the compact functionality of the Fiesta Van, the class-leading practicality of the Transit and the heavy-duty prowess of the legendary Ranger. The first batch of over two hundred vans has already been supplied, and will be central to Thames Water’s success in providing its services to over nine million people.

The contract deal rigorously assessed each manufacturer’s merits, with Ford eventually succeeding based on the superior whole-life costs and reliability of its vans. Based in London and the South East, Thames Water will equip and maintain its Ford fleet at the Southall bodyshop of Bri-Stor Systems.

Ford’s direct sales manager, Stephen Gafson, says he is “delighted to have won this new contract with Thames Water, and to have come out on top in the company’s very thorough review and tender process”.
